Invites - Faith HelpA player needs an Invite to join Engineering Faith. Active players will occasionally get invites, which appear on the Paths page (and on the sidebar of the game.) Currently one invite is given out every other day.
There are a number of advantages to invite-based membership over totally open signup:- It makes it much harder to create multiple accounts, for one. If somebody invites ten other people who all use the same computer, obviously there's something astray.
- Invites allow growth to be easily kept to manageable levels. Instead of a rapid growth spurt putting the server out of commission or making it overly slow, people join a steady rate (stopping any potential "Slashdot effect".)
- Extra invites can be given out to people who show good conduct, contribute, and are otherwise fun to play with. These people will be more likely to invite other similar people to the game.
If you want an invite, you can request one using the Request Page. You'll show up prominently on the page where players can invite people.
If you have an invite, go ahead and use it to invite an Altering Time visitor. You can also have somebody you know create an Altering Time account so you can invite them. | Help Home
